Two U.S. citizens were arrested in Qatar's capital and detained on suspicion of planning to import millions of dollars worth of food.
A Qatari court today found 22-year-old Mohammed Almasri and 23-year-old Abdulrahman Zaidi guilty of conspiracy to import food from other countries. They are charged with being members of a group designated a terrorist organisation for the "terrorist-related activities" that took place last May during a military coup.
Almasri and Zaidi each face up to 25 years in prison.
It's no surprise that the court ordered charges to be brought against them as Zaidi was arrested in 2015 for threa바카라tening to kill journalists if they made any reports on him.
A Qatari court found that one of the suspects in the case is the brother of a detained journalist.
The charges against Almasri come four months after the arrests of two other U.S. citizens, a U.S. contractor and an activist from the Arab League.
The suspects were both born in Egypt.
Qatar issued a statement today explaining the detention of the Americans.

U.S. embassy officials in Dhahran also confirmed the detention of American citizens, in the latest step in President Donald Trump's efforts to build stronger ties with our Muslim and Arab partners.
